The Look Keo Blade pedal is constructed from a composite blade and body. This material allows us to offer a range of lower stiffness blades - 08 and 12 - for an engagement and disengagement sensation between a spring pedal and a carbon blade pedal.

It combines all the advantages of a blade pedal: a clean on/off feel, better foot support for more safety, aerodynamic profile and reduced weight (compared to a conventional spring system). The support surface has also been optimized, providing excellent pedaling stability.

\\n

BLADE TECHNOLOGY uses a blade instead of a conventional spring, which has many advantages for the user:

\\n

- A VERY SAFE SHOOT / UNLOAD: the buckling of the blade allows a firmer foot hold when shod, then when unshod a faster ejection of the foot at the end of the movement for increased responsiveness and safety.

\\n

- AERODYNAMIC PROFILE: Blade Technology pedals have the best aerodynamic profile ever created because the blade is integrated into the body.

\\n

- LOWER WEIGHT: The design of the pedal around a blade system allows for significant weight reduction and better weight distribution.

\\n

AXLE LINE: MORE STABILITY AND BETTER LOAD DISTRIBUTION

\\n

The Blade Carbon pedal axle line has been designed to achieve a very low pedal contact height of only 14mm. It uses a centrally mounted needle bushing for better resistance to pedaling forces and two spaced ball bearings that distribute the load, provide increased rigidity between the body and the axle line and guarantee excellent rotational fluidity.

\\n

All axial play (due to internal bearing play and component wear) is eliminated by a wave spring that constantly applies a pre-load, without degradation over time. In the dynamic phase of pedaling, this system completely eliminates the discomfort caused by play (noise and floating sensation).

\\n

The LOOK axles are only validated after a rotation test of 2 million cycles at 100 rpm with a 90 kg load on the center of the pedal and an eccentric rotation (which creates a shock at each revolution). This is equivalent to a sprint by André GREIPEL of 1700 watts at 100 rpm for 333 hours! This test is far superior to the current standard: the ISO 4210.

SUPPORT SURFACE: OPTIMAL POWER TRANSFER

\\n

The pedal-cale system must allow an efficient power transfer thanks to a large and rigid contact surface.

\\n

To achieve this, the Blade's contact surface is equipped with a 64mm wide stainless steel plate, which optimizes the contact zones between the cleat and the pedal, for a contact surface of 400 mm².
