Its new design fully integrates the blade for unparalleled aerodynamics. Featuring a carbon body and blade, the Blade Carbon is available in a Ti version (titanium axle) for a weight of only 95 g per pedal, or in a Cr version (Chromoly + axle) for a weight of 110 g per pedal. It is available in 3 release tension levels: 12, 16, and 20.

OPTIMIZED AXLE LINE: MORE POWER TRANSFER AND RELIABILITY

The axle line of the new BLADE CARBON has been completely redesigned. It is built around an oversized axle and a thru-axle line consisting of a ball bearing in the internal position and a needle bearing centered under the support surface. This new construction allows for a gain of approximately 2 to 3 watts at 100 revolutions per minute.

The distance between the ball bearing and the needle bearing has been increased by 25%. This provides more rigidity to the entire axle line and consequently improves power transmission.

Sealing has also received special attention. It has been improved by 120% for increased reliability and longevity. To achieve this, the new axle line features a new end cap with an O-ring on its outer end. Internally, it is equipped with a double lip seal. 

LOOK axles are only validated after a rotation test of 2 million cycles at 100 rpm with a load of 90 kg on the center of the pedal and an eccentric rotation (which creates a shock with each revolution). This is equivalent to an André Greipel sprint of 1700 watts at 100 rpm for 333 hours! This test is far superior to the current standard: ISO 4210.

SUPERIOR SUPPORT SURFACE 

To meet the needs of the most demanding cyclists, especially competitors, the pedal-cleat system must allow for efficient power transfer through an extended and rigid contact surface.

The BLADE CARBON's support surface features an overmolded stainless steel sheet, 67 mm wide. It optimizes the cleat/pedal contact zones, regardless of the pedaling angle. 

With 700 mm² of support surface, the BLADE CARBON offers an optimized contact platform for unparalleled efficiency and power transfer on the market.
