Blog Post - le-specialized-turbo-nec-plus-ultra-des-velos-electriques

We've been eagerly awaiting it: Specialized's electric bike! It's now a reality. We can confirm that the Turbo is a high-performance hybrid bike, with integrated battery and motor, which will propel you at speeds of up to 32 km/h..., without too much sweating...

Luxury and Technology

If you are one of those cyclists who appreciate luxury, technology and performance, you will love the Specialized Turbo, or when the design and performance of a high-performance hybrid bike meet the practicality of an urban bike.

Careful Design

The design of the Specialized Turbo is first and foremost focused on look, comfort, and speed. Its sleek lines give it a refined look, while its standard accessories, such as its LED lighting system, kickstand, and mirror, make it a practical and safe bike for city commuting. Its battery hidden in the frame and integrated cables contribute to its successful aesthetic. Its efficient and grippy tires add a sporty touch. As for its weight, however, at 21 kg, it's not a light bike. This is a factor to consider if you have to carry the bike up stairs.

In terms of speed, the Turbo will allow you to reach a top speed of 32 km/h with minimal effort and will smooth out the extra effort required when climbing a slight incline. However, beyond this speed, you will no longer benefit from motor assistance, and you will have to propel the beast with the sole force of your legs...

About the Battery

As for the 460 Wh battery , Specialized's engineers integrated it into the downtube, allowing the Turbo to maintain its performance hybrid bike lines. The electric motor is activated directly on the battery. It recharges in two hours, and the theoretical range of the bike, with assistance, is about one hour. Of course, the duration of this range varies depending on the type of terrain you're riding on, the slopes to climb, the load on the bike, and the strength of headwinds. As for the charger, it plugs directly into the downtube, above the battery, via a discreet and brilliantly designed magnetic connection.

On-board Computer

The on-board computer provides information on battery usage, speed, and ride time. Power management is done using a control integrated into the handlebars.

In short, you'll appreciate the Specialized Turbo if:

Note that an "S" version, equipped with a Rockshox suspension fork and gravel tires, is also available.
