OUR OPINION: BIGGER IS BETTER. BUT NOT ALWAYS
At Bicycles Quilicot, we believe in big wheels when they are properly built for the rider and the use. Riders should ride the biggest wheels possible.
The SPECIALIZED STUMPJUMPER FSR EXPERT CARBON EVO 650b: an agile and powerful machine for "Off Road" experts!
Whether it's recreational hardtails or World Cup XC winning race machines, All Mountain bikes, or men's and women's gear, the advantage of Specialized 29ers has been demonstrated. But because not all riders want to ride a 29", the new 650b offers the traction, stability and rolling advantages of 26" wheels, but the speed, stability and fun of a 29" without neglecting lightness!
That's why we are delighted to introduce the first Specialized 650b bike with geometry specific to the use and size of 27.5-inch wheels, the Stumpjumper FSR Evo 650b.
WHY A 650B MOUNTAIN BIKE?
The 650b offers the advantages of 26" in terms of traction, stability and rolling. Specialized has therefore prioritized the creation of the 650b in order to meet the demands of riders who want to ride such a bike. However, Specialized is not slowing down in its research for innovations for 29ers because they are confident in this type of bike.
Thus, two scenarios are possible for smaller wheels that are potentially lighter and provide better acceleration, which is an advantage for some riders, namely:
1. Fun: for quick changes of direction, 650b wheels can provide a feeling of increased agility. However, it should not be forgotten that current 29er geometries offer shorter chainstays than most 650b.
2. Size: when choosing the bike size is complicated or large wheels undermine confidence. We are now able to offer some 650b models with higher standover. Also, the look of 29" wheels can be intimidating, especially for riders new to mountain biking.
WILL SPECIALIZED CONTINUE TO PRODUCE 3 WHEEL SIZES?
26" wheels will no longer occupy as much space in the future. They will not disappear completely, but expect to see more and more 650b bikes and equipment. These wheels are called 650b because that's exactly what they are. The name 27.5" can be confusing because these wheels are not an intermediate between 29" and 26". They have their own identity.
Specialized's tire design team has already introduced 650b tires, and the Roval team (the wheel brand that equips some Specialized bikes) is working tirelessly to offer the best bike wheels on the market.
Available in Expert and Comp versions, the Stumpjumper FSR CARBON EVO 650b is waiting for you!

From recreational hardtails to World Cup XC winning race machines, All Mountain bikes and men's and women's gear, the Specialized 29er advantage has been demonstrated.
