The 2014 Tour de France was one of the most exciting. There was plenty of action, cobblestones, rain, and most importantly; victories. Teams using Specialized bikes won multiple stages, but the complete domination of Vincenzo Nibali and the Astana team was impressive, to say the least.

On his way to victory in Paris, Vincenzo won four individual stages and wore the yellow jersey for a total of nine days. In addition to his first Tour victory, Vincenzo now joins the elite of the elite who have won all three Grand Tours, the triple crown. It was a victory highlighted by the selflessness of Vincenzo's teammates who, despite crashes and setbacks, symbolized the idea of "Together, We Win".

As exciting as Nibali's victory was the fact that his bike of choice was the new Tarmac 2015 Rider-First Engineered. From its debut at the Tour, the new Tarmac won nine stage victories – not bad for an introduction. In addition to the new Tarmac, Nibali showed his strength on the cobblestones with the Roubaix S-Works during the fifth stage. Marked by rain and mud, when grip was low, Vincenzo relied on his Turbo S-Works tires to guide him to the finish. Depending on the stage profile, Vincenzo had the choice between the Evade S-Works, an aero but ventilated helmet, or the ultra-light Prevail S-Works. To ensure his power transfer was as efficient as possible on the pedals, S-Works road shoes designed with Body Geometry in mind were used by Nibali as well as many riders in the peloton.

Nibali's victory was also unique because he had worked very closely with the Specialized racing team in recent years, and Specialized provided him with all the tools for success.
