Rocky Mountain Altitude Powerplay 3: Pleasure Over Performance
The Altitude Powerplay 3 in action — a bike designed to extend the ride, not cut it short. Photo Rocky Mountain.Rocky Mountain unveils its Rocky Mountain Altitude Powerplay 3, the new generation of its electric enduro mountain bike, designed for riders who love both climbing and descending. On the program: a 108 Nm Dyname S4 Pro motor, 170/160 mm LC2R™ suspension, a 720 Wh battery, and three versions (Carbon 70, Alloy 50, Alloy 30) starting at $6,499 CAD. Good news: the bikes will soon be available for order at Bicycles Quilicot — an official Rocky Mountain dealer in Quebec. Here's what's new, what's improved, and how to choose between the three models.
A bike designed to amplify every ride
The Altitude embodies Rocky Mountain's enduro DNA: podium finishes at the Enduro World Series, a Rampage victory, years of iterations on British Columbia's demanding trails. With the Altitude Powerplay 3, the North Vancouver team has taken everything that defines the riding feel of the Altitude platform and translated it into their most accomplished electric mountain bike to date.
Specifically, you'll find the LC2R™ suspension and geometry inherited from the Altitude range, but combined with the all-new Dyname™ S4 Pro drive system. The result: the motor delivers power exactly when you need it, without ever losing connection with the terrain. The bike transforms effort into acceleration, and days into multiple laps. If you're new to the category, feel free to browse our selection of electric bikes to see how the Powerplay 3 compares to other offerings.

The new Dyname S4 Pro: 108 Nm of torque, 1,000 W max power, 2-bolt vibration-free mounting. Photo Rocky Mountain. This is the heart of the new Powerplay. The Dyname S4 Pro is completely redesigned compared to the previous generation — more torque, more power, better cooling, quieter.
- Torque: 108 Nm — one of the highest on the market for an integrated motor
- Max power: 1,000 W (750 W option depending on region)
- Battery: 720 Wh integrated, removable
- Weight: 3,200 g
- Cooling: aluminum chain cover acting as a heat sink
- Overtimepack compatibility: 314 Wh range extender for very long rides
In practice, this means you can climb technical singletracks without overworking the motor, you can chain descents without worrying about running out of battery halfway through, and the 2-bolt mounting eliminates the vibration noises that plague older models.
LC2R™ Suspension: The Rocky Mountain feel transferred to electric
The LC2R™ suspension keeps the rear triangle glued to the ground even when the terrain gets rough. Photo Rocky Mountain. The LC2R (for Low Centre Counter Rotating) suspension is what gives the Altitude its signature ride. On the Powerplay 3, it has been reworked based on lessons learned from the "analog" Altitude:
- Increased mid-stroke support to stay high in the travel
- Reduced end-stroke progressivity to better utilize the 160 mm rear travel
- Stiffer rear triangle thanks to two short links
- Low center of gravity: the concentric bottom bracket main pivot lowers mass and improves stability
The idea behind all this: a bike that pedals efficiently (little bobbing, little pedal feedback), but remains supple, silent, and glued to the ground as soon as you hit the rough sections. This is the "legendary feeling" Rocky Mountain — responsive without being nervous, stable without being heavy.
The Jumbotron screen: fully integrated, nothing superfluous
Rocky Mountain has integrated its new Jumbotron display directly into the top tube of the frame. You'll find essential information there — speed, range, assistance level, cadence — without cluttering the handlebars.

- Boost Level: adjusts motor responsiveness based on pedal effort
- Assist Power: sets the amount of watts delivered in each mode
The cockpit remains clean, and the entire ecosystem (2A or 4A charger, redesigned charging port, Rocky Mountain app) gains in simplicity.
Three models, three budgets

What is the range of the Altitude Powerplay 3?
With its 720 Wh battery, the Powerplay 3 is designed for half-day to full-day rides depending on the assistance mode, elevation gain, and rider. For very long rides (raids, traverses), the Overtimepack adds an additional 314 Wh, or about 43% more range.
What is the difference between the "analog" Altitude and the Altitude Powerplay 3?
The "non-electric" Altitude remains highly relevant for riders who prioritize lightweight and pure feel. The Powerplay 3 is for longer rides, more elevation gain in a day, and terrain where assistance makes a difference on technical climbs — without compromising on descents thanks to the same suspension philosophy.
Is the Powerplay 3 already available at Bicycles Quilicot?
The model will be available for order soon. You can contact us now to reserve a version (Carbon 70, Alloy 50, or Alloy 30), discuss sizing, or ask our mechanics technical questions.
Which model to choose between the Carbon 70 and the Alloy 50?
The Carbon 70 is for riders seeking the best stiffness-to-weight ratio and high-end Fox Factory suspension. The Alloy 50 shares the same motor, the same 160 mm travel suspension, and the same SRAM Eagle 90 drivetrain, but with a FORM™ aluminum frame — an excellent compromise for those who want to enjoy the full platform without the carbon price tag.
