Allo Vélo

Opened in 2013, the Allo Vélo shop-cafe combines a cafe and a bike repair shop. Located in the Saint-Henri district, near the Lachine Canal and the bike path that runs alongside it, Allo Vélo offers a wide selection of coffees to allow cycling enthusiasts to relax while their bikes are being repaired. All tune-ups come with a choice of coffee. "Montreal had a good coffee culture and a good bike culture , and we decided to combine the two," explains one of the two owners, Lamar Timmins. La Maison des cyclistes

At the edge of Parc Lafontaine, located in the heart of Montreal's urban cycling world, La Maison des cyclistes, which houses Vélo Québec's offices, offers a charming little cafe to cycling enthusiasts passing by. Since 1996, you can enjoy coffees, sandwiches and pastries there, but also have a glass of wine on the terrace in summer. The building is located at the junction of Brébeuf and Rachel, two of Montreal's busiest bike paths. A 40-space bicycle parking lot is available for customers. "We were looking for a global concept to bring people together," recalls Vélo Québec President and CEO, Suzanne Lareau. Kitsuné

West of the Plateau Mont-Royal, Kitsuné is one of a growing number of cafes that offer urban cyclists the opportunity to park their bikes indoors. The decor is rustic with wooden furniture and a brick wall. Scones and other pastries are featured in this cafe located on Prince-Arthur, near Saint-Laurent Boulevard. Visit the Facebook page

Edgar Café

Edgar Café has become known for its "bike-friendly" side. Smoothies, pastries, and chocolate are featured in this design space. They used to welcome bikes inside, but due to lack of space, they have now installed outdoor bike parking. Edgar Café is located next to the former Edgar Hypertaverne on Mont-Royal. The Green Route

The "bike-friendly" cafe concept is still new, but it is expanding in Montreal and elsewhere in Quebec. Along the Green Route, but also elsewhere in the region, many establishments display the Bienvenue cyclistes (Cyclists Welcome) certification, which indicates that the service and facilities are adapted to cycle tourists!
