Employee spotlight: Lucas, Sales Advisor at the Ste-Thérèse Location
In our employee profile series, meet the people who bring cycling to life every day at Bicycles Quilicot. Today, we’re meeting Lucas, a sales advisor in Ste-Thérèse: a passionate mountain and gravel cyclist, driven by the joy of riding, pushing himself, and making the most of the outdoors.
Introduction and Background
“My name is Lucas and I’m a sales advisor at the Ste-Thérèse store. I’m originally from France, and I moved to Québec in 2014 to study biology, then economics. After spending a few years in this beautiful province, I obtained my permanent residency in 2022, which allowed me to settle here. I’ve been working at Bicycles Quilicot since April 2025.”

Cycling Style
“I’ve mainly been riding mountain bikes since I was young. In my family, there are many cycling enthusiasts, especially my father, who owns two bike shops in France. He’s the one who passed this passion on to me. The joy of riding, pushing myself, and enjoying the mountains and nature are my main motivations for getting out on the bike.”
“After several years of studying and working in another field, I rediscovered the sport with my Rocky Mountain Instinct C90, which I rode around the Québec City area. That’s when I knew I wanted to work in this industry. I then began my career transition by returning to France to work in my father’s bike shops in Haute-Savoie, before coming back to Québec.”
“During those two years in France, I discovered gravel riding, which is now the discipline I mainly practice since returning.”

His Bikes and Why He Loves Them
“I have two bikes: a 2019 Rocky Mountain Instinct C90 mountain bike and an Open U.P. gravel bike with a custom build. The Rocky Mountain really matches the way I ride: it’s a versatile all-mountain bike that’s just as fun on the climbs as it is on the descents.”
“My Open was built in a more road-oriented setup, with a Rival groupset in a double chainring configuration and Enve components (wheels, handlebar, stem, and seatpost). I can ride it as a gravel bike with the Enve AG28 wheels or as a road bike with the Roval wheels. It’s a setup that gives me a very versatile bike, perfectly suited to my needs.”

Cycling Essentials
“My 3 must-haves on a ride:
– Shokz headphones, to really escape with good music on gravel roads and trails.
– A Fidlock bottle and mount, which I use on my mountain bike: it’s really practical, easy to access, and holds a good amount of water for rides in the woods.
– A good pair of glasses: I have two pairs, Smith and POC, which I alternate depending on my mood and my look, which is always important.”
Lucas’s Recommendation
“For mountain biking, my favourite spots are around Québec City, including Sentiers du Moulin, Empire 47, and especially Vallée Bras-du-Nord, in the Shannahan sector, with descents like La Légende and the Nelson trails. For a weekend getaway, it’s the perfect way to step out of the daily routine and enjoy some incredible trails.”
“Come see me in-store, whether it’s simply to talk about bikes or to get more advice.”
