Creating a bicycle to succeed the
Dogma 65.1
was a significant challenge for Pinarello engineers! Combining multiple successes in the Tour de France and a world champion title, the Dogma has now set a precedent and has become Pinarello's best-selling model to date.
Associated with Team Sky since 2010 and with a contract extension until 2016, the equipment manufacturer called on Jaguar to develop the new F8. Thanks to particularly rigorous wind tunnel testing, the frame alone is 47% more aerodynamic than the 65.1. For its part, the new Onda F8 front fork is 54% more aerodynamic than the Onda 2 of the 65.1, resulting from the integration of the fork with the down tube. This is reflected even in the small details: the integrated teardrop-shaped seat post locking system optimizes aerodynamic flow.
Thus, the Pinarello F8 now replaces the 65.1 and meets the high quality standards so dear to the Italian manufacturer. To do even better, to carry over the characteristics that made its predecessor successful to the F8, that was the challenge Pinarello engineers had to face. An unchanged geometry adapted to each cyclist's size (13 available sizes 42-62cm) and the asymmetric frame design that maximizes energy transfer during pedaling remain unchanged. Everything else has been optimized so that the Dogma maintains its lead over the competition.
AERONAUTICS AT THE SERVICE OF CYCLING
Among the features that allow Pinarello and the new Dogma F8 to stand out is the Torayca T11001K Dream Carbon, used in the aerospace industry. The only bike to use Dream Carbon, the F8 shows a weight reduction of 120g compared to its predecessor and tips the scales at only 860 grams (in size 54), is 12% stiffer than the 65.1 while maintaining its excellent weight/stiffness ratio without affecting it.
Compatible with mechanical or electronic DI2 and Campagnolo EPS groups with internal mounting. As for the bottom bracket, the Italian standard is present on the new frame.
The brakes are not integrated into the frame and are mounted in a classic way. Perfectly adapted to the seatstays, the rear brake still contributes to improving aerodynamic flow. Pinarello opted for the same approach at the down tube with the bottle cage.
Aesthetically, only one word can describe the quality of the frame's finish: impeccable! Consequently, the F8 will undeniably turn heads.
