There's nothing lighter, faster, or more agile
If you want to go fast and everywhere, this is the ideal bike. The Specialized Tarmac can conquer Grand Tours as well as your local cyclosportive. The design has been completely revised, add to that a bit of aerodynamic magic and, of course, disc brakes, and our already ultra-versatile race bike becomes even more so.
A BIKE THAT PUTS YOU FIRST - Rider-First Engineered™
Seven different sizes with the same behavior. The only way to achieve this result is to optimize each carbon weave and its positioning. This work is meticulous; each piece of carbon must be measured and adapted to obtain the desired stiffness and handling qualities. Our engineers work tirelessly to ensure you experience the perfect bike.
No one would go this far. To create the ultimate bike, Specialized literally analyzed every piece of carbon that makes up each frame size to ensure that the goals were met. The process is complex because what works on a 49cm frame does not apply to a 61cm frame. To give you the best feel, each frame has a specific construction, fiber orientations, and adapted material quantities. The Tarmac even benefits from unique carbon thicknesses and weaves in the industry.
AERO IS EVERYTHING - 45 SECONDS FASTER OVER 40 KM
Aerodynamics is our best way to make you faster, and Specialized spent 6 months optimizing it on the Tarmac. Aero, yes, but not at all costs; we kept all the handling qualities of the Tarmac while making it faster, as fast as the first Venge, in fact. The aerodynamic development of the Tarmac lasted 6 months, but the data acquired over the last 6 years during countless aerodynamic projects, field tests, and CFD (computational fluid dynamics) also greatly contributed to the success of this project. The aerodynamics of 3 frame zones have been optimized without compromising the bike's handling or line – a new fork shape, dropped seatstays, and a D-profile seatpost. The result? A bike 45 seconds faster over 40 km than the best in its class.
