Blog Post - look-795-aerolight-2015-an-impressive-road-bike

We had the opportunity to admire the brand new 2015 Look 795 Aerolight this week. The bike will soon be available on the market. Here's a brief overview.

As we noted in a previous post about Look , the French manufacturer is a pioneer in bicycle technology. When it comes to the 795, the list of innovations is long, as this bike integrates no less than 11 patents: HSC fork, Head Fit, A-Stem stem, flat handlebar, ZED crankset, integrated seat post, with integrated battery, integrated brakes and cables, integrated electronic groupset.

An aerodynamic and lightweight racing bike

The 795 is only a few grams heavier than the Look 695 , while being much more aerodynamic, which is the main objective of this bike. Our full DuraAce Di2 demonstrator (without pedals) weighs 15.08 lb (see photos). This weight is in the same category as the Specialized Venge S-Works .

To achieve a true aerodynamic gain, all tube sections adopt an ultra-optimized shape that limits turbulence behind the tubes and maximizes the bike's potential speed. The seat tube, down tube, head tube, fork, and seat stays have been designed with this NACA profile, validated by aerodynamic engineers and then tested in a wind tunnel.

Look continues to surprise us with technological innovations, the quality of its frames, and its efforts to integrate components.

We look forward to trying it out and will share our impressions, as well as pricing details, in an upcoming post...
