Employee Spotlight: Anthony, Sales Director
As part of our employee spotlight series, we invite you to discover the people who keep Bicycles Quilicot rolling strong. Today, we’re catching up with Anthony, our Sales Director – someone you might run into at one of our stores or during one of our events.
Meet Anthony
"My name’s Anthony, but everyone calls me Antho. I’ve been with Bicycles Quilicot for almost 11 years now. I’m based mainly at the Sainte-Thérèse store, but I’m often on the road, helping out other locations or representing the company at events. I love being on the ground – close to the teams, close to our customers – making sure everything’s running smoothly. You’ll often find me at events like the Club des petits déjeuners Golf & Bike Classic or Lacourse pour l’autisme, a 24-hour mountain bike challenge. "
Cycling style
“I’m mostly into road cycling. Most of my cycling friends ride road bikes too, which is perfect because I love group rides. It’s a great way to explore the beautiful roads of the Laurentians – and check out a few microbreweries along the way. I grew up around bike racing, watching my stepfather Marc-André Lebeau, owner of Bicycles Quilicot, compete. He’s the one who introduced me to the sport and gave me the chance to grow within the company.”
Favourite ride
“I’m currently riding a Tarmac SL8 with a SRAM Force AXS groupset – a setup I love for its performance and responsiveness. But if I had to pick one thing I’m most stoked about, it’s my Enve 4.5 wheels.
Not only do they have a sleek, aggressive look, but the ride quality is next level. The smooth rolling, snappy acceleration and comfort – even on long rides – really set them apart. Every time I hop on my bike, those wheels remind me why I love riding so much."
Must-Have Gear
“My number one must-have: my new Givelo bib shorts. Since we started carrying Givelo at Quilicot, I’ve had the chance to test them out – and the comfort is unreal. Their funky, original designs also tend to turn a few heads during rides.
Second must-have: my Wahoo GPS. I like riding without a strict route, getting a little lost on purpose, but still having the peace of mind to find my way back. On group rides, it helps set a steady pace and makes sure everyone’s enjoying the ride.
And finally – my portable speaker. Music plays a big role in my life, and that includes on the bike. Whether I’m climbing or cruising alongside a quiet river, it sets the perfect vibe for the ride.
”
Anthony's advice
“If I had one tip to share, it would be to always keep the fun front and centre. Cycling is a beautiful sport – a way to push yourself, explore, connect. Don’t worry too much about speed or distance. Just enjoy the ride.
And second – something people tend to overlook – stay on top of nutrition and hydration, especially on hot days. Eat well before, during and after your ride, and drink plenty throughout. It makes a huge difference in your energy and enjoyment, even hours into a long ride.
