Employee profile: Marc, Mont-Tremblant's store manager

With our series of employee portraits, we take you inside the Bicycles Quilicot family to introduce you to our passionate and dedicated employees. Today, we'd like to introduce you to Marc, manager of our Mont-Tremblant branch.

Presentation and history with Bicycles Quilicot

"My name is Marc and I'm the Mont-Tremblant store manager. I've been working for Bicycles Quilicot for 7 years now. "

His favorite cycling practice

"My favorite riding style is gravel in summer, but in winter you'll probably see me riding in the snow on fatbike trails! I like fatbike riding to get out in nature and free myself from the constraints of winter. Most cyclists turn to indoor training in winter, but I did enough of that when I was racing. Now I prefer to be outside, in nature, among the trees!"

His favorite bike

"My fatbike is a Rocky Mountain Blizzard 20 in size Medium. It's fitted with 27.5 x 4.5 Terrene Cake Eater studded tires, and a telescopic seatpost. I chose this model for two main reasons: cost and geometry! Price is important when you've got kids and a house to pay for, and as for geometry, I've always liked the way the Rocky handled, and after trying the 30 with the Manitou Mastedon, I know where my next investment in this bike will go.

His must-have equipments

"When I go out for a big ride, I don't hesitate to wear good long underwear (suitable for the temperature) and good socks (usually wool). If I'm riding alone, I usually wear my Shokz headphones and play bluegrass music (as well as other types of music, but bluegrass is fun). Also, the Blivet Boddi bag has changed my life by allowing me to store my phone when I'm out and about: everyone should have one! Finally, you should always have a good pair of gloves (easy to wear and keep your hands warm)."

Marc's recommendation

"For fatbikes, I strongly recommend studded tires . If you decide to invest in a fatbike, keep this in mind, or budget to equip it accordingly if it isn't already. Studded tires make riding safer and increase the number of days per season you can ride. As for where to ride, I'm a father of three and don't have much time to ride. So I stay close to home so I can ride often and not spend my time in a car! Tremblant has a wonderful network of well-maintained fatbike trails that are constantly expanding. They promise not to disappoint! I've heard that Parc du Mont Loup-Garou is a nice place in Ste-Adèle... it's on my list of places to visit this winter. And of course, don't forget that if you're wondering what to do, all you have to do is get on your bike and have fun!"
