Presentation and her road with Bicycles Quilicot

"My name is Jade and I'm a sales consultant. I've been working for the Quilicot family for two years now, more specifically at the Rosemont sur Masson branch!"

Her cycling style

"I've been racing road bikes for 11 years now. I'm on the junior team of the Club des Espoirs Laval, the Espoirs Quilicot team! I dabble in everything that revolves around road biking, such as mountain biking, fatbikes and track cycling. But road cycling is still top of my list, because it's what allows me to push my limits the most, both physically and mentally, in an atmosphere that's both competitive and infinitely friendly thanks to the team spirit. The fact that road cycling also allows me to travel and explore new parts of the world makes it even more wonderful! "VIVE LE BÉCIQUE!""

Her favorite bike

"One of my favorite disciplines in bike racing is time trials. My TT bike is an Argon 18 E-117 TRI DISC. In a word: rocket. Coupling all the necessary elements like my Velotoze, Poc aero helmet, skinsuit and 90mm profile wheels, my E-117 rounds off this "fast and dangerous" package to make me feel like a rocket on the road. Responsive, stable and light, it lets me give it everything I've got, knowing that my aerodynamics are maximized. I also like the fact that the bike can take 28 mm tires, which maximizes performance and comfort. Finally, the Sram Force AXS groupset allows me to shift gears efficiently without having to compromise my concentration and position. In 2023, it was with my E-117 that I managed a top 10 at the Canadian Road Championships and a top 3 at the Quebec Road Championships!"

Her must-have equipment on the bike

"For a more relaxed ride or workout, my first essential is music, which helps me to push myself but also to make the outing or the scenery even more memorable. Special mention goes to the song "Run Boy Run" , which has been with me for a very long time during my indoor training sessions! I often listen to podcasts while riding, which is sometimes why I laugh alone on my bike ;). For racing, a must-have is Brix maple syrup flasks . It's an important discovery I made in 2023, and a shot of maple syrup beats any gel without hesitation, as much for taste and texture as for its energizing properties! Finally, a good rear light is never to be underestimated. It's a small detail that can save lives!"

Jades' recommendation

"An interesting discovery that I recommend is Mont-Mégantic! An ascent of almost 600 m in just under 10 km. Promising for thighs on fire and teeth gritted. An absolutely magnificent view from the top, and the chance to get a close-up look at the Mont-Mégantic observatory, one of Quebec's jewels! Not to mention the blistering descent! Disc brakes are a must! This outing also gives us a taste of what the riders taking part in the Tour de Beauce have to contend with after already 175 km of racing."
