Introduction and journey at Bicycles Quilicot
"My name is Gaétan, and I’ve been working at Bicycles Quilicot for 5 years now. I am currently the Inventory Manager at the Rosemont store in Montreal, and I also spend part of my time in sales ."
Cycling experience
“When I was younger, I competed in road and track cycling in France for 11 years. After a break, I got back into recreational cycling when I moved to Quebec. I mainly did bike touring and bikepacking, and this year I found a new passion for long-distance cycling with my participation in the Race Across France (1000km) and Race Across Quebec (500km). Both were incredible experiences that sparked a desire to do even more! Cycling allows me to escape and share special moments with other enthusiasts. It brings happiness and is always rewarding!”
Favourite bike
“My favourite bike is my current one: an Argon 18 Krypton . It's designed for endurance, very comfortable, not too aggressive — perfect for ultra-distance events. As a bonus, it’s extremely versatile and also allows me to ride gravel (Big Red, etc.), since it can accommodate tires up to 700x38."

Edge 540 Solar with my route loaded and excellent battery life.
A quick and efficient repair kit: spare tube, pump or CO2 cartridge, and a small multi-tool. A flat tire can happen anytime!
Music with my Shokz earphones , which allows me to escape during solo rides. I usually listen to music that helps me keep a strong pedaling rhythm."

“My recommendation for bikepacking enthusiasts would be the tour around Lac St-Jean, with a must-stop at the historic village of Val-Jalbert. It's a stunning place and a real favourite of mine! Otherwise, no matter the speed or distance, always remember to ride for the joy of it above all!"
