His cycling style
"I'm usually on my road bike. I like to plan my rides in advance using Strava, especially in places I'm less familiar with, and let myself be guided by the scenery. Another activity I love is mountain biking. I love getting lost on mountain trails, especially in the summer when it's very hot on the roads, and it's great to find some coolness in the woods along the streams!"
His favorite bike
"When you say asphalt, you say road bike, which is why I've been riding a BMC Teammachime SLR for the past 2 years - a real bomb! With it, I've covered a good number of kilometers, from flat to hilly, and even a few mountain passes. Although it's fitted with a pair of 45mm wheels, it's playful and not too stiff. For me, it's the ultimate all-round bike!"
His must-have equipments
"Being a big bike geek, I never go out without my 3 essentials, which are my Garmin Edge 830 GPS for tracking my routes and data in real time, and the Varia RTL515 rear light, which not only makes me visible to motorists, but also instantly warns me of oncoming traffic, so I don't have to turn my head every time. Finally, I never go out without my Leadout handlebar bag, which allows me to carry all my stuff (food, pump phone) without looking like a turtle ;)"
Rémi's recommendation
"It's so nice to be able to pedal away, mile after mile, in glorious sunshine and summer temperatures. Makes your mouth water, doesn't it? Well, so do I! It's my main motivation during the winter season, reminiscing about the summer days when we discover or rediscover new routes.
Speaking of discovering new routes, my favorite apps are Strava, Komoot or Ride With GPS. There's nothing like them for breaking away from routine and finding the motivation to set off on a voyage of DISCOVERY. Once I've found a route, I synchronize it with my GPS and let myself be guided along the way. We're lucky to be able to take part in a sport (more or less slowly) that gives us pleasure, not only in the effort involved, but also in the beauty of our surroundings.
During long bike rides, it's essential to take enough food and above all to stay well hydrated! When it comes to nutrition, I particularly recommend Cliff Blocks. Not only are they delicious, but they're also easy to digest, providing all the carbohydrates and nutrients needed to keep you going ;) As far as drinks are concerned, I always carry small electrolyte tablets with me, which I let melt in my water bottle before setting off."
