A training program open to enthusiasts
Offered at the CFP des Moulins and lasting 645 hours, the training leads to an Attestation of Vocational Studies (AVS). In order to accommodate people who already have a job, the training will be offered in the evening from 3:00 p.m. to 10:10 p.m., in order to promote work-study alternation.
This is a great opportunity for all those who wish to link their passion to their professional world. Indeed, being a bike mechanic also means developing a variety of skills such as autonomy, taking responsibility, but also communication in the context of teamwork and customer relations, and even physical endurance. All in all, an extremely rewarding panel in a professional career, in a setting linked to the fabulous world of cycling.
The first bicycle mechanics training program officially recognized in Quebec
The program is the first in the field to be officially recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation, thus opening the doors to a better recognition of the bicycle mechanic trade, which is in high demand. Employment opportunities will lead to positions in growing sectors such as bike stores, rental services, mobile workshops and manufacturers.
For Marc-André Lebeau, president of Bicycles Quilicot, "Today, salaries and working conditions are the same as for car mechanics. The training we have developed will greatly help in the recruitment and retention of our personnel and will be beneficial for the entire bicycle industry in Quebec.
